Jesus Is the Way, the Truth, and the Life
Pastor Gary reflects on Jesus’ words in John 14: “I am the way, and the truth, and the life,” alongside Stephen’s witness in Acts 7. Together, these readings invite us to ask a deeply honest question: when we pray, are we asking God to follow our way, or are we being shaped by the way of Jesus?
As Easter moves toward Pentecost, this message reminds us that prayer in Jesus’ name is not about control, easy answers, or getting everything we want. It is about trusting the path Christ has already shown us — a way marked by mercy, forgiveness, courage, justice, and love. Stephen’s final prayer shows what that kind of faith can look like, even in the hardest moments.
