God Is With Us in Our Worry, Grief, and Uncertainty | Matthew 6:25-34
Worry has a way of taking over. We worry about our families, our health, our finances, our future, and sometimes circumstances completely outside our control. In Matthew 6, Jesus speaks directly into that very human experience: “Do not worry.”
In this sermon, we reflect on God as Creator, our call to care for creation, and what Jesus’ words about the birds of the air and lilies of the field can teach us about trust. We also hear a deeply personal story of grief and the way a community of faith can become a tangible reminder of Christ’s presence when life feels overwhelming.
What You’ll Learn:
Why Jesus’ words “do not worry” still speak to our lives today
How worry can shift our trust toward the things we think we can control
What creation reveals about God’s care for the world
How Christian community can embody Christ’s love in seasons of grief
Why the resurrection gives us hope even in the face of death
Scripture:
Genesis 1:20–31
Matthew 6:24–34
The good news is not that Christians never worry. It is that our worry does not have the final word. In Christ, we are held by a love greater than our fear, surrounded by a community called to care for one another, and promised that even death cannot separate us from the life God gives.
