Enduring Lord, I hope for

Enduring Lord, I hope for…
All throughout Lent Pastor Nate will be sharing reflections on ways to start a conversation with God. These short prayer prompts provide you with a way to begin your prayers on a variety of topics. Today, we explore the nature of hope.
There are lots of reasonable critiques of Christianity. Many very intelligent people have articulated all sorts of seemingly logical reasons for why the beliefs of Christianity cannot be trusted.
However, the place where this line of thinking comes up short is in the category of hope. Thinking that we are clever enough to NOT believe in God will always align you with a system of belief that is lacking in hope.
Our faith, for all it’s flaws, can never disappoint us in the hope department, because it is built on the belief that there is an all-loving God who created this world and who will gather all of creation back together in the end. Even death itself is not an ending for people of faith, because Jesus Christ has already entered and redeemed death through his resurrection.
Today, talk with God about the places in your life where you need a reminder of
hope.
