Generous God, open my eyes to see…
All throughout Lent, Pastor Nate will be sharing reflections on ways to start a conversation with God. These short prayer prompts provide you with a way to begin your prayers on a variety of topics. Today, we ask God to open our eyes to the world around us.
God’s generosity is all around us, often in the simplest of things: fresh air, the warmth of the sun, the laughter of a friend, a shared meal. Yet in the busyness of life, it’s easy to overlook these gifts. We can become so focused on what we don’t have or what we’re trying to achieve that we forget to notice the abundant blessings right in front of us.
Jesus often used stories to open people’s eyes to deeper truths, urging them to see the world differently. He invited us to see the beauty in small acts of kindness, the value in serving others, and the importance of love over material wealth. “The kingdom of God is among you” (Luke 17:21), He said.
Today, ask God to open your eyes to the beauty of the present moment. What blessings can you see today that you may have missed in the past? Take a moment to pause, reflect, and give thanks for the many gifts God has generously given.
