Hymn Reflections - We Come to you For Healing, Lord

There’s something deeply honest about this line from the hymn We Come to You for Healing, Lord. It names a truth that rarely admit out loud: that we are not whole people all the time. We ache and grieve, and worry.  We hold invisible wounds that many do not see and that time alone cannot mend.

And yet, the hymn reminds us that there is a place we can turn when the hurt is overwhelming.  We can bring all of our inner turmoil into Gods presence and this is where healing begins.   Even if all we can manage is a quiet prayer or a sigh too deep for words.

Notice how the words in the hymn acknowledges that prayer reaches beyond physical healing. Wholeness doesn’t mean returning to who we were before the pain. It means discovering that God can make something whole even out of what’s been wounded.

So today, wherever you are, whether you’re praying for healing in your body, or in your thoughts, or in your heart; know that the Spirit is already at work in you. Wholeness may come slowly, but it will come.

Today’s affirmation:
God of mercy, I come to you as I am body, mind, and soul. Connect me with your healing Spirit, and make me whole again in your love.
