"Whom shall we trust but you, O Lord?
Where rest but on your faithful word?
None ever called on you in vain.
Give peace, O God, give peace again."
This verse from the hymn, "God of Love, O King of Peace" is so poignant in the ways that it directs our faith at the moments when trust and peace seem allusive. It's opening line states the anxiety that many of us feel so deeply these days. It can seem so hard to know who or what to trust these days, but as people of faith we know that our faith can rest in the faithful word of God.
There is a deep and abiding sense of peace that comes with knowing we always have somewhere to turn when questions and despair begin to creep in. God hears our prayers and that alone is an unending source of peace for us.
