Come down
Zacchaeus was just attempting to see Jesus. We don’t know what he expected to gain simply by seeing Jesus walk by. Maybe it would just provide a great story to tell his friends. Chance sightings of publicly known people often provide a good story. But today there would be not just a sighting for him, but an entire encounter. Our task may be to not wait. Today invite Jesus to your home, your work, your hobbies. Chance sightings make a good story. A true encounter can change your life.
Jesus, invite me to come down, and let me welcome you into my life anew.
