Guest Post - God's Got Your Back

From Pastor Nate - I'm always looking for other people to jump in and share reflections for these daily devotionals and so today, I'm thrilled to share something my dad put together. Rev David W. Preisinger has been an ordained Lutheran pastor since 1978. He's served congregations in Syracuse, Utica, and Albany, NY and spent 25+ years as an Assistant to the Bishop in the Upstate NY Synod. He currently lives in Clifton Park, NY.

      GOD HAS GOT YOUR BACK
"But now thus says the Lord, he who created you , O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: Do not fear for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you: and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the holy one of Israel, your savior…. You are precious in my sight and I love you. …Do not fear for I am with you."
-Isaiah 43:1-3

My wife died in March, I was in the hospital and unable to see her and say good-bye (I was confused and did not know where I was.) When my head cleared and I knew what was going on I missed her and felt guilty and struggled with that guilt for the first couple of months.

I’ve read some books on grieving and a phrase that keeps popping up is: “God has got your back.” In other words, we are not alone. Yes, I have my children, but even more I/we have God walking with us.

No matter what challenges you/I face or how uncertain life seems, remember we are never alone.

In life's most challenging moments, you can trust that God will never leave your side. God promises offer comfort and reassurance, reminding us that we are never alone, no matter the circumstances we face. “GOD HAS GOT YOUR BACK.”
